Greenlight TV successfully produced live coverage of the North West 200 road racing event in Northern Ireland remotely from its Tromode studios as part of its commitment to sustainability.
In an effort to cut down on CO2, the crews for the event were split between Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, with direction for the racing happening remotely using the latest broadcast technology. Greenlight TV is a committed member of BAFTA’s Albert scheme which aims to take action against climate change by reducing the impact of television production.
Putting the ‘green’ in ‘Greenlight’, the North West 200 remote production reduced the crew’s carbon footprint with less travel, while sustainability was further enhanced by Greenlight’s policy of electronic paperwork and the elimination of single-use plastics both in Tromode and Northern Ireland.
