A TT thief has been caught red handed on CCTV using a knife to steal a banner from the Duke TT Village.
“Dave” was seen entering the compound just after 6.40pm on Senior Race Day (10th June) and proceeded to use a knife to remove the ‘Peter Hickman’ banner from a building.
After appearing to injure his thumb, “Dave” was shortly joined by another man while three other people who appeared to be in the same group, watched on.
The second man who was wearing a black TT merch hat, assisted in removing the banner by cutting the higher cable ties.
Meanwhile a family who witnessed the incident walked past with one them, the man joking ‘do you want a stepladder, there’s one just around the corner..’ and the woman joking ‘can you get us that one’, pointing at another banner on the fence. The family walked on.
The two men rolled up the banner and left the site, the one in the black hat climbed over the fence, but “Dave” walked out through the gate.
There have been a number of thefts this TT including one of one of the TV Go-Pro cameras from a Sidecar. The camera was fitted onboard Michael Russell's Suzuki LCR during the Sidecar TT Race 2 where they retired at the 33rd Milestone. Someone stole the camera from the outfit while it was awaiting recovery.
