Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed a light aircraft was involved in a crash at Bradda Head earlier today.
Emergency services including Belfast Coastguard responded to the incident at just after midday.
Investigating officers confirmed a light aircraft collided with the cliff face at Bradda Head in Port Erin.
Emergency services will be working with aviation crash investigators through the evening.
It is believed the aircraft had one person on board at the time of the collision but no details about the individual have been released.
Police advise that the area of Bradda Head is under police scene guard and the public should avoid the area.
The water and air space around the site is also closed to the public.
Additionally, there is a temporary restricted airspace for drones and other light aircraft. P
Flights in and out of Ronaldsway will not be effected.
