Green Party Commissioner Under Fire After Online Comments About Town

A Ramsey commissioner has come under fire after comments made on a Facebook post. 

Lamara Craine (Green Party) has been a commissioner for the town since November 2021, is a prominent member of the Manx Wildlife Trust and a former Deputy Leader of the Green Party. 

Craine made comments online regarding her opinion of Ramsey town and those who live there.

The Facebook comments (pictured below) have since been deleted from the thread.

It comes as town clerk, Tim Cowin confirmed yesterday (July 17) that Ramsey Commissioners have received a number of complaints about remarks made on social media by one of its elected members. 

Mr Cowin did not say whether the investigation related to comments made by Craine. He went on to say they will not be commenting further at this stage.
