Marown Primary School will share a Head Teacher with a school in Peel from February 2024.
Anna Jackson, currently headteacher to 442 pupils at Peel Clothworkers’ will continue in this role, when she takes over from Ian Longshaw.
Mr Longshaw is set to retire after 15 years at Marown which has 165 pupils.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture has said that “Mrs Jackson is an experienced school leader, who has a passion for inclusion, intentional thinking and employability skills for the learners”.
Jackson said: “Working in schools that play a genuine part in the life of a community is a real pleasure and I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead a team of like-minded professionals, and build upon their successes.”
Julie Edge MHK, Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, said she is “delighted that Anna has accepted this important role”.
Edge added: “I would like to thank Ian for all he has done for the children and staff at Marown, over the last 15 years.”
