The Isle of Man's Yasmin Ingham, the reigning Eventing World Champion, has been selected to be part of the team of four riders set to represent Great Britain at this years FEI European Eventing championships. Along side experienced team members Ros Canter, Laura Collett & Kitty King, Ingham will also have the chance to go for individual glory as well a team medal. Making up the British squad of six riders are Tom McEwen & Tom Jackson who will be riding as individuals.
Earlier today, 26 year old Ingham presented her horse, Banzai du Loir in front of the ground jury for the first horse inspection. The horse inspection is there to make sure all horses are fit and well to proceed with the event. After the rigours of the cross country on Saturday, those still in the competition will once again present their horses in front of the ground jury on Sunday morning before proceeding to the final phase of show jumping.
The action starts tomorrow morning with the dressage phase, where Yasmin and Kitty will be performing their tests, whilst the rest of the squad will do their dressage on Friday.
The long range forecast is mixed, with temperatures set to reach 26 degrees tomorrow, and more overcast and cooler Friday its going to be a warm couple of days to get the event started.
