Manx Equestrian Yasmin Ingham has stormed into the lead at the half way stage of the dressage phase at the European Championships, in Haras Du Pin, France.
Scoring a mark of 23.4, Ingham has taken a 2.6 point lead over German individual rider Jerome Robine, who is in second on 26.0, and teammate Kitty King, who sits third on 27.5. Both British riders felt that the judging was on the harsh side today, and felt they could have scored better.
Speaking of her ride, Banzai Du Loir, Ingham said: "He was amazing, it was very atmospheric in there and he didn't put a foot wrong, he did everything I asked of him. He felt very extravagant and just floated around the boards, he's a real pleasure to ride."
Ingham will have a day off tomorrow, but will be supporting her fellow teammates during their dressage tests, before tackling the cross country on Saturday. According to Ingham the cross country is "an interesting track, beautifully presented and with some serious questions", but she's looking forward to it.
