A new virtual experience launched at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show is to enable people of all physical abilities to explore the Island’s 18 National Glens.
Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture, Clare Barber MHK, said: “This initiative opens up a world of possibilities for individuals with illnesses or disabilities, who may find it challenging to visit these beautiful locations in person. With virtual Street View technology, users can explore the National Glens, taking in enchanting landscapes and experiencing nature's wonders, all at their own pace.”
Beth Martin, Director of Disability Networks applauded the completion of this project and thanked the collaboration from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture and IOM360 for “initiating” the virtual tours.
Martin added: “This will inform people of what to expect before visiting these gems. They will give pleasure to those who, for whatever reason, are unable to access them. They will also be useful to encourage potential tourists to visit our beautiful Island.”
