A space for the local community to use has been opened by Manx charity, Crossroads, thanks to Manx Lottery Trust funding.
The charity has been awarded a grant of £2,500 from Manx Lottery Trust and has used the funds to open a community space above its new store on Tynwald Street, Douglas.
The area includes a kitchen, coffee machine, and bathroom and is furnished with "comfortable" furniture throughout.
Jackie Betteridge, CEO of Crossroads, said: “Crossroads wanted to create a comfortable and welcoming space, which brings the community together and supports those who may be struggling with the rising costs of living and social isolation.
Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, Stephen Turner expressed his delight to support Crossroads with its community space initiative.
He said: “We hope funding will enable the charity to develop upon their existing social and charitable activities, whilst supporting those most in need.”
