Ben unable to berth in Heysham due to high winds

The Ben my Chree was unable to dock in Heysham last night (September 19) due to "stronger than forecast winds" and returned to Douglas during the early hours of this morning (September 20).

The winds meant that the Ben was unable to berth in Heysham and at 2:00am the Master took the decision to return to Douglas.

This follows on from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company deciding yesterday afternoon that the Ben would replace the Manxman for one night only due to the weather conditions.

As it stands none of todays scheduled sailings have been affected by last nights disruption and are running to time.
