This weekend the Spring Valley Roundabout (Fort North Roundabout) will close to all traffic from about 6am on Saturday morning (October 14) and remain closed until no later than 6pm on Sunday (October 15) for resurfacing.
The junction will reopen to traffic by Sunday evening, with the south bound leg (to Richmond Hill) still closed to all traffic due to ongoing work. Part of the roundabout will have a temporary surface until the following weekend.
The following weekend the roundabout will reclose to all traffic from about 6am on Saturday morning (21 October) and remain closed until no later than 6pm on (October 22) to complete resurfacing and to install line marking.
Diversion routes during the closure are as follows:
Traffic heading south from Douglas are advised to travel via
• Douglas Harbour (either via Millennium Bridge or Stone Bridge), South Quay, past the Nunnery, Kewaigue and join the diversion route past the Energy from Waste Plant and back onto the New Castletown Road.
• Same exit from Douglas and use the Old Castletown Road
• Braddan Bridge, Vicarage Road, Cooil Road to Cooil Roundabout, St Marks Road
Traffic from South on the New Castletown Road will continue to use the diversion past the Energy from Waste Plant, and then be directed to South Quay, Douglas.
Bus Vannin will publicise any minor amendments to its services.
