Sloc shut whilst police conduct open area search

The Isle of Man Constabulary have shut The Sloc until at least 2pm today (October 26).

This follows on from an incident occurred in the area of The Sloc in the South of the island at approximately 00.10am this morning.

As a result of this, a road closure is currently in place from the top of the Round Table, Dalby down through the bottom of the Sloc and to the area of Lower Scard Farm (the bottom part of the Sloc which meets with Ballakillowey).

There is currently a large Police presence in this area whilst it conducts an open area search.

Please be advised that the public should not be alarmed by this presence as there is no risk to the public at this time.

The IOM Constabulary took to social media saying: “As soon as we can provide a further update, we will. We would ask the public to avoid the area at this time to allow Officers the space to conduct the search. As always, we appreciate your cooperation but would ask for the public not to speculate at this time. Many thanks.”
