Work will begin next month on replacing the Crosby Sewage Treatment Works that serves the Crosby and Glen Vine areas.
Manx Utilities said the project supports the demands of a growing population in the Crosby and Glen Vine area and represents a significant step forward in addressing the community's vital wastewater management needs.
The present Sewage Treatment Works at Crosby built in the 1960s is now outdated and requires work to bring it up to modern day standards.
The new facility will further reduce pollutants in the discharged effluent, enhancing water quality in the adjacent River Dhoo and surrounding water bodies.
As part of the construction, there will be a need to remove some prominent trees on site.
Work will be undertaken by Contractors Paul Carey & Sons with anticipated completion programmed for April 2025.
