Manx Care is reminding patients that if their baby is born in the UK, they must register the birth in the UK before returning to the Isle of Man.
Manx Care are asking those who give birth in the UK to make sure they register their baby before returning to the Island, as otherwise "they will have to return to the UK within six weeks of their baby’s birth in order to complete their registration".
It said: “We are aware that some patients have been informed by UK clinicians that they will be able to register their child’s birth by declaration once they return home, as this is possible across different counties in the UK. However, this is not the case for Isle of Man, and the process must be completed in the UK.”
