Work made by Artists from the Isle of Man’s Creative Network will be showcased as part of HOME, a new exhibition at the Manx Museum, opening on November 18.
More than eighty members of the Creative Network were set the challenge to create a piece of work about what ‘home’ means to them.
Sixty-five pieces of work were selected for display in the exhibition ranging from drawings to paintings, ceramics, mixed media, photography and sculpture.
Each piece appearing in the exhibition was selected by an expert panel for display including Manx artist and Educator Ian Coulson, internationally renowned sculptor Professor Michael Sandle RA and Katie King, Manx National Heritage Curator for Art and Social History.
Carola Rush from the Creative Network said: “The Creative Network is a collective of Manx artists, run by artists for artists, with the aim of promoting the work of its members and to showcase the rich diversity of artwork produced within our Manx creative community.
We are extremely grateful to Manx National Heritage for working with us to provide this wonderful opportunity for our members to take part in a major group exhibition, where all artists are responding to a particular theme. It is always fascinating to see the breadth of individual responses shown alongside each other.”
The free admission exhibition opens at the Manx Museum on November 18 – April 14 from 9.30am to 4.30pm daily.
