Last night (November 29) a public meeting about the proposed onshore windfarm at Earystane and Scard was held.
Chief Minister Alfred Cannan and former Manx Utilities Chair, Tim Crookall MHK were on a panel, along with officers from the authority.
Following a presentation from MUA officers and employees of Wardall Armstrong, the consultants advising on the project, the audience was given a chance to ask questions regarding the proposal.
Members of the audience told Energy FM that they didn’t feel reassured following the meeting, disappointment with the "tight time frame" given to ask questions and concerns that the windfarm would drastically reduce house values in the area.
One member of the audience claimed that MU Transition Programme Manager, Lizzie Riley, had said earlier in the day at a drop in session that “property prices crash initially” when the windfarms are erected.
