Last week, children from Peel Clothworkers’ School in Peel participated in a competitive food drive for the Isle of Man Food Bank.
Teachers explained to children what a food bank is, when people might need to use a food bank, and why it’s important to help others when we can.
On Friday (December 16), the food collected by each class was weighed and a total of 867.5kg was collected over the week.
Well over 150kg was UHT milk, which is always in high demand at the food bank.
The winning class (Miss Lace’s 6L) donated 209.5kg, earning themselves a class treat.
